PROECHO’s role was client’s representative on site making sure that the project was delivered for the December 2018 timetable change.

The project involved constructing a 46m extension onto the existing depot shed so that new rolling stock could be accommodated for maintenance. Included in the project were extensions to the pits, upgrades to all the M&E services and installation of new HV equipment and shore supplies.

Crossrail Training and Underground Construction Academy (TUCA)

TfL (Bechtel)

Volker Wessels

£16M
PROECHO’s role was clients Project Manager for delivery of the training academy. The facility included a section of track complete with tunnel and section of a station. The facility replicates all the conditions and equipment found on the Crossrail system including ticket gates, ticket machines, platform edge doors and a section of a train. Students are being trained and learning on the exact same equipment as they will find on the real railway.

Shotts line route clearance works

Network Rail

BAM Nuttall

£35M
PROECHO’s role was contractors Project Manager looking after all aspects of the project delivery.

The project involved bridge enhancements, demolitions and renewals to meet the height clearance requirements for overhead line electrification. Several of the bridges were in very sensitive urban areas where strict deadlines had to be met. The larger bridges at Shotts and West Calder were carefully coordinated with Network Rail, ScotRail and the local authorities to ensure positive outcomes for all the stakeholders.

Crossrail West Outer (WOTI)

Network Rail

Balfour Beatty Rail Civils (BBRC)

£35M
PROECHO was engaged by BBRC to deliver a job that was seen to be failing. The delivery team was rationalised, better planning and coordination with the client instigated and the two bridges at Iver and Slough over the Great Western Railway were demolished and rebuilt on time and to budget. This job was particularly complex due to both the nature and location of the bridges, the political sensitivity and the multiple stakeholder issues of the larger Crossrail infrastructure project.
